We collect the following information when you use tonara.:

• Account information — your email address and name when you sign up or log in via Google.
• Usage data — the number of translations and refines you perform each day, to enforce free plan limits.
• Saved translations — if you are a Pro user, translations you choose to save are stored in our database.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Device preferences — language and display preferences stored locally on your device (localStorage). We do not transmit these to our servers.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the tonara. service
• Manage your account and subscription
• Enforce usage limits on free accounts
• Process payments via Stripe
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Your translation content

Text you enter into tonara. is sent to OpenAI's API to perform translation and tone refinement. This text is processed in real time and is not stored by us unless you explicitly save a translation. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for how they handle API data.

4. Data storage

Your account data and saved translations are stored securely using Supabase, hosted on infrastructure in the United States. We apply row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible by you.

5. Third-party services

tonara. uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — AI translation and tone refinement
• Supabase — authentication and database
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — hosting and deployment

6. Cookies

tonara. uses essential cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights (Australian Privacy Act)

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
